Andrew Gilbride is a Toronto-based video editor and film and media professional who believes that every good cut is one part instinct, two parts caffeine, and—when the stars align—a kind of low-key transcendence. A Film & Media grad from Queen’s University (which sounds fancier than it is, but hey, he wrote some good essays), Andrew stumbled into editing the way most people stumble into love: unexpectedly, irrevocably, and through a student fashion show. Since then, he's carved out a path through the editing worlds of music videos, branded content, kids animation, and feature film, eventually joining the Director’s Guild of Canada through their Guild Apprenticeship Program. He’s since served as Assistant Picture Editor on four feature films, an upcoming Netflix series, and one very abnormal skincare documentary. At his best, Andrew edits with the emotional logic of a great pop song: punchy, precise, a little haunted. He maps tension across frames with the care of a string quartet or a whispered confession, cutting for clarity without cutting the soul. His rhythm is instinctive—part watchmaker, part DJ—and his instincts flirt with structure but always marry tone. The result is work that’s intuitive, textured, and often scored to a playlist that swings from debussy to Charli XCX. He’s also your favourite coworkers’ favourite coworker.
